Shape vs Environment
Each game has a unique look, feel and style to the environment and gameplay - HUDs and UI must accommodate this in all forms. Games that have mismatching styles with HUDs become disruptive - feel... off. I wanted to explore this, starting with the basics - Shape. Below are screenshots with shapes that I have drawn on them - ones that I believe fit the environment in the image. Of course, when it comes to games themselves, environments change all the time, but this is just an experiment.
